In Year 2 we viewed a very informative video based on five young Aboriginal people and one young Torres Strait Islander man .We gained an insight into the lives, families and contributions of the six hosts, all of whom are making their own way in the world, enjoying success as individuals and making a significant contribution to their communities and Australian society.

 

 

Once we viewed this documentary, we brainstormed the challenges they faced and how they may have overcome these on an APP called Popplet.

 

Here are some challenges that came from our brainstorm:

• Education

• Travel

• Loneliness

• Stereotypes

• Culture and Beliefs

• History

 

In conclusion, this lesson helped us to develop our knowledge of, understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, contributions and ways of being.
